We love the festive season because we’re one of the best pubs in Cheshire at hosting Christmas events. What makes us the best you ask? Well, we’re no other than the hosts of Swanderland, Tarporley’s annual festive extravaganza, all held in our Cheshire country pub. Both upstairs in the Tarporley Room, and downstairs in the main pub, events are held throughout November and December that include comedy nights, festive parties and live music. The Lion at Malpas’ Christmas Celebrations – 3rd December to 1st January
Of course, we couldn’t cover the best pubs in Cheshire hosting Christmas events without an honorary mention to our sister pub The Lion too. Based over in Malpas, there are an array of events taking place over the festive period – with lots of activities for the kids too including breakfast with Santa.
The full agenda of The Lion’s Christmas events includes:
Sunday Lunch with Santa – 3rd and 17th December, 12 pm to 4 pm
Experience the magic of the season with Sunday Lunch with Santa. Children are invited to an enchanting encounter with Santa himself, receiving a special gift to cherish. Admission is free; reservations required for dining.
Christmas Film Extravaganza – 10th December, 4pm to 8pm
Embrace the cinematic enchantment with a Christmas Film Extravaganza. Families can enjoy the heart-warming tale of ‘The Grinch,’ followed by the adult favourite, ‘Bad Santa.’ Admission is complimentary, with the room opening at 7:30 pm. The bar will be open, and popcorn will be available.
Carols with One Achord – 19th December 7pm
Savour the sounds of the season with Carols by One Achord. The Lion welcomes you to enjoy an evening filled with the timeless charm of Christmas carols, complemented by complimentary mulled wine and mince pies.
Christmas Eve Extravaganza – 24th December 7pm to 12am
Christmas Eve promises live music and a spirited Christmas Jumper competition. The stakes are high, with a £25.00 voucher for the winner and complimentary drinks for the two runners-up. No admission fee; just bring your festive spirit.
Christmas Day – 25th December 8am to 2pm
On Christmas Day, The Lion at Malpas opens its doors for a serene celebration. Join us for drinks and unwind in the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Boxing Day – 26th December 8am to 8pm
Extend the holiday cheer into Boxing Day with breakfast starting at 8 am and food service from 12 pm to 8 pm. Reservations are strongly recommended for this delightful post-Christmas feast.
New Year’s Eve Bash – 31st December 8am to 1am
Bid farewell to the year with a New Year’s Eve Bash featuring live music from Whitley Jones. The bar stays open until 1 am, and there’s no admission charge. Welcome the New Year in style.
New Year’s Day – 1st January 8am to 8pm
Commence the New Year on a delightful note with breakfast from 8 am and food service from 12 pm to 8 pm. Advance reservations are recommended to kickstart the year with a delectable meal.
